Course Level 1: Introductory

Using the Ruby programming language in the Rails framework you will learn about routing your web pages and developing a CRUD application – In programming the four basic functions of persistent storage are Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD). You will also learn about test driven development (TDD), and how to create accounts and registration for your web applications.
The course begins by teaching you about what CRUD applications are and how to write different routes for your application. You will be guided in a step by step demonstration to make a simple CRUD application, as well as being shown how to tidy up the application code to make it easier to read. Next, the course introduces you to test-driving development using the Capybara tool. You will learn about writing Capybara testers to test the user interface of your web application. You will also learn about creating accounts for your application. Finally, the course introduces you to adding bootstrap to your application, along with password hashing and how to maintain the users session when logged into the application.
Prerequisites: You will need to have completed an introductory course in Rubyon Rails and have a good understanding of HTML and web app development.
