Introduction to Pharmacy Practice

Course Level 1: Introductory

The course begins by introducing you to the different types of pharmacies and the role of the pharmacist. You will learn about the different job roles and responsibilities of the pharmacy technician including operating a cash register, entering patient information, and resolving online insurance claims. This course will also teach you about measurements for dispensing medication for patients.

The second module of this course will teach you about medication safety and the difference between medical errors and medication errors. You will learn how to review prescriptions which involves entering the prescription into a computer, generating a prescription label, filling the prescription and delivering it to the patient. This module will teach you about the responsibilities of healthcare professionals and how to effectively communicate with your patients. The final topic of this course explains what the future holds for pharmacy practice.
