This course will teach you about the risks involved in demolition work and how it can be performed in a safe way.
The course begins by introducing you to the process of demolition. You will learn about the health and safety duties that people involved with demolition work have. The course will also introduce you to the risk management process that should be taken to identify any hazards that are associated with demolition work. Next, you will learn the different risks that are involved in performing demolition work. The course reviews risks involved in building demolition and chemical risks that are involved in demolition work. You will learn ways in which a work area can be secured for performing demolition work safely.
Finally, you will review the processes of manual and mechanical demolition and the risks involved with them. You will learn about safety measures to be taken when using manual or mechanical demolition methods. You will also learn about the demolition of special structures and how special structures may need to be demolished differently to less complex structures.
