Corporate Governance

Course Level 3: Advanced

Estimated Study Time: 2-3 hours

This course begins by introducing the two main aspects of this subject: internal and external forms of governance. You will learn how internal governance addresses how the owners of a firm ensure that the firm is acting reasonably, ethically, and within the bounds of the law. This is a subject that deals with the relationships between managers, employees and the owners of a firm. The second aspect is external governance, that is the system of laws, regulations and market forces that ensure the organization is fair, accountable and transparent to the organization’s stakeholders and to the government and to society as a whole. External governance also examines how market forces influence an organization.
